The AA965 probe is bolted to the front of the M18 sensor. This reduces the shape of the emitted sound cone while reducing the maximum range. This makes it possible to prevent the detection of objects in the peripheral area of the sound lobe, for example the vessel wall, during the ultrasonic level measurement. The corresponding sound lobe change can be removed from the response curve in the datasheet
